Capriocciosa: Italian food by Japanese

After work I went to meet my mum at Capriocciosa, an Italian restaurant at JCube. It was a rather interesting restaurant as the original chef was a Japanese who went to Italy to study cooking. Back then it was still rare for that occurrence to happen. He went back to Japan and open his Italian restaurant. From there, it became a chain of restaurants.

The decor was bright and full of contrasting textures.

Love latte! Probably my favourite type of coffee. The layers are so pretty!

Huge huge tuna and calamari salad with house dressing. I have a thing for tuna salad. No matter what dressing, it is still good.

The pepperocini with steamed chicken was similar to aglio olio but more soupy. I would have preferred it to be more spicy.

The pappardelle (very broad fettuccine) with porcini and eringi mushrooms was fantastic. Never had such a broad pasta before and the pasta was freshly made. Great dish!

Affordable place and great location for lunch and dinner. Will definitely be back for more fresh pasta!

Mich’s wedding at The St. Regis

One down. How many more to go? I attended Mich’s wedding dinner yesterday at The St. Regis ballroom. Some one from high school is married. I wonder who’s next?

My ootd: top from Asos (I love their free international shipping and great service), pants from G2000, shoes by Unlisted and huge dangly earrings from F21.

The balloon was very grand in old money style, glitzy gold furnishings and chandeliers from the ceiling.

We later took a lot of photos in the dim lighting as we dared not use flash. However, we later succumbed.

Just a handful of us turned up from the class. But we had a fun time catching up, joking and laughing.

Our feast consisted of foie gras, crab cake, honey barbecued pork, shark’s fin, abalone, cod fish, kurabuta pork, seafood hokkien Mee, hashmina dessert, chocolate tart and chocolate macaroon. I only ate half the items on the list. My friends enjoyed extra servings of the delicacies.

After dinner, some of us went to chill at Overeasy. And of course, we camwhored along the way. It was a rare chance for us to meet us with all of us working.

First group shot, fail. Second one, a success.

Afternoon at The Central

Finally took one afternoon off the whole holiday to just go out, pamper and enjoy myself. No worries about work, just letting my hair down.

The place I went to was Bioskin at The Central, Clarke Quay. It was a very good deal, with IPL, O2 therapy, dermapeel, shoulder massage, foot pressure detox, O2 light infusion for only $88! I was literally glowing after the treatment. Now that it has been a day after, my skin is still light and smooth, not oily at all.

It was honestly the best facial I went for but I would probably never have it again as it was a one time deal. I could never afford it at its original price of $480.

After that it was dinner with the Bims Club at Billy Bomber. It had been so long since we have met up and it was laughter therapy as usual. So glad to be able to share stories and tickle our funny bones.

And that was still not the end of my day. When I got home I had two surprises waiting for me! A wedding invitation from a good friend back in high school. Wow, time really flies. Can’t wait to meet up with the gang in April to see how everyone turned out.

Last but not least, my cloud jelly Mercury case finally arrived from Korea. Don’t you just love online shopping? Talk about a world without borders.

I’m glad for such a great afternoon. Now, back to work.
